Description
The role of Staff Member at the DSIT, and more specifically at its Office for Artificial Intelligence, may provide a unique opportunity to influence the advancements in AI policies and to help coordinate the implementation of the UK National AI Strategy. Numerous positions are considered as Staff Member, and those can encompass policy advisors, project leads, and heads of strategy. These professionals are responsible for supporting and coordinating initiatives related to AI, innovation, and technological progress. Their duties encompass a wide range of activities, including policy development, research, stakeholder engagement, and strategic planning.
Example tasks
Create briefing materials for ministers and senior officials, facilitating their interactions with the industry and global partners.
Coordinate relationships with academics and industry working to influence the cutting-edge of science and technology.
Help coordinate governmental R&D funding.
Help deliver key legislative and regulatory reforms in the field of technology, including AI.
Help deliver talent programs, physical and digital infrastructure and regulation to support governmental, security and public services.
Help manage an analytical team which partners with policy teams and creates fact-based policies.
